Logine - 8 close friends join hands to keep their gang in tact after a disturbing incident during their annual half new year party.
Synopsis - Inspired by classic ensemble films like "Dazed and Confused," "St. Elmo's Fire" and "Breakfast Club" 1/2 New Year is a heartfelt dramedy about redemption with a splash of raunchy humor for good measure.
Every July, this LA group of friends celebrate 1/2 New Year with a blow out party. They dress up, drink champagne, have a countdown, make new resolutions, and generally take a break from the daily grind to really let loose.
All in their late 20's / early 30/s, each character is struggling with the transition from post college reveling to serious "adulting". Some are managing better than others.
Tensions and frustrations hit a climax during last year's 1/2 New Year Party. One of the friends has a frightening breakdown and the accident that enues crates a rift between the once-tight friendships.
This year, the gang is getting ready for what may be the last 1/2 New Year they will ever celebrate. In the midst of a wild party, secrets are revealed, friends become lovers, couples either grow up or break up, and each character discovers a little more who they are and who they want to become.

We are on raising money to help offset the post production costs for our feature 1/2 New Year which just wrapped filming and is currently being edited by director Tom Morash.
Some of these costs include sound design, color timing, a score, licensing, errors and omissions insurance, and marketing costs.
We've used our own savings to fund the shoot for this movie as an investment into our careers as local filmmakers and to tell this LA centric but universal story.
Like the tagline of the film says, friends really are the family you get to choose. Also, we really wanted to make a movie that if nothing else, will at least make people laugh. The world needs more of that.
We met LightsCamera.FUND creator Chai Forrest at the film festival I work for and were immediately intrigued by his brand new platform.
We share his loyalty to local artists and his vision... a site where LA based filmmakers can
1. Build sustainable careers
2. Get to know each other spurning future creative collaboration
3. Develop personal interactive relationships with fans and audiences
4. Provide inside access to bts footage, cast and crew interviews, and a wide range of other videos related to their projects.
We are so proud to be the first film on Lights Camera Fund! I encourage other filmmakers to hop on this train while you still can!
Special thanks to Chai for working his ass off to film all this BTS footage for us.
Want to check it out? Learn more about the film? Watch unedited clips of production? Get to know the cast? Then join the party !!
Entry fee to our portal is 3$.
More is appreciated.
Thx in advance.
